"Community, Identity, Stability." – Brave New World
The Real Helixes: We are HuxleyStudents. From the beginning, students have been the very center of our foundation and our mission at Huxley. We set out to give the best college experience to the best college students. We don't base our admittance selections on a standardized test, but seek the people who are truly qualified to excel - the students who have what it takes to be a Helix written into their genetic make up, their DNA. Already, these very same students have their own Huxley success stories.
"Even with a 36, I wasn’t going to get in there, not without starting my own small business lending money to other small businesses in third world countries so that unemployed fathers could start small sustainable farms to feed their children...." - Ford, Class of 2012 "If I leave this place right now, the world might change, and I am afraid I won’t have a say in it..." - Rosalind, Class of 2012 "No school but Huxley could understand that we needed to be together in order to do our best work. Hux could with empirical knowledge overlook what no other school would overlook, and the rest is history..." - J.B., Class of 2014 "Huxley didn’t write me off, but went ‘below the surface’ when they assessed my academic potential..." -Cee, Class of 2013 |
Student OrganizationsHere at Huxley, in the same way that proteins are the building blocks for biological life, we know our student organizations are the basis for what makes our culture so vibrant. Student organizations are all student-created and run, and without them, Huxley would not be the social learning community it is today. Our amazing students (and we will kick a little credit to faculty as well) have cultivated a set of student organizations as expansive as the human chromosome. Whatever you seek we provide. Whether that is a social outlet where you can just have fun and meet new people, a scholarly organization where you can share your academic passions with like-minded people, or an athletic group adjusted to fit your individual competitiveness, you can find it on our campus. Can't decide what to chose? Don't be overwhelmed, our Student Life Office can give you a quick genetic based consultation about what organizations you may be interested in. Of course, all organizations are open to everyone. Whoever you are, you will fit in at Huxley.
Helix AthleticsWatson the Helix
Are all athletes meatheads? No, the Huxley athletic department proves this fact. We understand the reputation athletes get for being all brawn and no brains, but we know that many of the nations premier sports stars have the genetic makeup to be classroom All-Stars as well. We make no exceptions in our admissions standards just to let the athletically predisposed come star in Huxley uniforms, but we also believe that our admissions process helps athletes get into a better university than by standard procedures. To master their skill and further their talents, athletes must spend significant time on the track, in the gym, or hitting the weights. This means sacrificing the crucial study time needed to beat the ACT and APs in the same fashion they do their athletic opponents. We bring in the smartest athletes in the game to field the teams of our 12 varsity athletic teams.
