FAQs
When will I find out about my admissions decision?
- As soon as we receive results from the analysis of your DNA Sample, as well as knowledge that you passed the BAT, you will receive a notification. Upon being notified, it is important that you promptly fill out the Environmental Factor Questionnaire. All final admissions decisions are sent out on March 15, but notification of initial test results are a good indicator of future acceptance.
How does financial aid work?
- In addition to painting a holistic picture of our applicants, the Environmental Factors Questionnaire also will provide Huxley with the necessary information to determine the type of financial aid package a student will receive. However, DO NOT FEAR. Huxley is well endowed due to large donations from the Huxley family estate and the Board of Trustees chairman Chris Vanter. Also, the generosity of Richard Powers has funded numerous full ride scholarships for students based on both need and merit.
What is the most important date for my application?
- Due to the speed with which we can sift through applications, as long as your questionnaire has been submitted by March 14, you can still be admitted to the incoming class of Helices.
How is freshman housing determined?
-You share 95 percent of your DNA with the banana sitting in your pantry, so we believe that you should have at least that much in common with your first year roommate. At Huxley, freshman housing is determined by your genetic similarity with future classmates as well as similarities determined from your completed questionnaire.
